No new levels just yet because it has been difficult for me to smarten the clam's tile-checking mechanism. Stanislav Merezhko (dop2000) was called in to do some direct changes to the code involving this, so I am planning on recognising him in the credits for his contributions, and since the changes of removing solids, I have had to fix a number of bugs that have come up, so this release is mostly about fixes to enemy AI behaviour along with some features. Some new features include Secret Runes, they have been placed on every level. On the first level, all enemies are still available there for testing. There is a new type of breakable block that can only be destroyed by Cheeky's hammer and a nifty feature when knocking back Clams into bread. So there's a lot more to test here. Please continue to report any bugs. I would really like to smooth out the game as much as possible before moving onto making new levels, but I am hoping to get new levels as a focus soon.
Reported but unable to replicate:
These were reported but hard to replicate and after fixing some other code in the game, I have not been able to reproduce these issues, so please test them:
1) Switch shifting back into a tiny version of himself
2) Dash getting stuck on shapeshifted Switch
3) Sticky's tongue shoots at the wrong angle
4) No control over Cheeky after starting a new game
Changelog:
NEW:
1) Secret Runes - There are 8 different runes that can be found throughout the entire game. Each level has a certain amount of secret runes. They should all be found to increase your "Secrets found" score. You can activate a rune by simply moving over it. We are still considering whether or not activating these runes will give points.
2) Obstacle - Although not possible to interact with just yet. I have added an unbreakable obstacle to the obstacles family. Some of the later levels will have this feature to make it more challenging. Cheeky can go through these obstacles if he has the transparent or phased power up, but they cannot be destroyed.
3) Breakable Wall Blocks - Like the obstacle but can be broken with Cheeky's hammer. Clams cannot go through these blocks. Cheeky can go through them if he has the transparency or phased power up activated.
4) Breaking bread blocks - Bread blocks will now break if Cheeky hits a clam with his hammer and they get knocked back into the bread.
MODIFY:
1) Smarter AI tile checking for all clams - Clams will no longer stop to rotate into a direction they cannot go in.
FIX:
1) Bug report form showing the last message after closing the window - Text in the bug report form will now only be kept if the report is not successfully submitted to save the player time in re-typing the message if it was failed to be sent or just closed off and opened again later without sending.
2) Clams getting stuck - No clams should be getting stuck on any obstacles now such as Switch's bush.
3) Chomp LOS - Fixed an issue causing Chomp not to chase cheeky when he has a line of sight of him.,
4) Switch LOS when shapeshifted - Fixed an issue where Switch was not shapeshifting back to chase Cheeky when he had LOS of him.
5) Invulnerable Sticky - Fixed an issue that was stopping Sticky from being hit by Cheeky's hammer.
6) Disappearing clams when they are not killed - Fixed an issue where Clams were not considering the outside walls as an obstacle allowing them to leave the layout causing them to get destroyed.
7) Clams getting knocked out of level by Cheeky's Hammer - Cheeky can no longer knock clams out of the level if they are close to the edge of the level.
Next in development:
1) More bug fixes
2) There may be a new section of levels available in the next alpha release.
